KOIZ Campus

Urban development is planned for Kırklareli Organized Industrial Zone (KOIZ) to provide the missing social infrastructure. The project consists of administrative building, daycare center, vocational schools, student housings, sports center, conventional center, hotel, commercial units, mosque, which sits on a total 145 000 m² land. The project site is located at the North entrance of the industrial zone and it contains a small lake to the South. The program is divided into two parts. On the west, a new campus is designed containing all educational functions. On the north of this campus administrative building is designed to face the main entrance of the industrial zone. On the east commercial and recreational functions are designed connecting the highway on the north to the lake which is rehabilitated and redesigned. These two campuses on the west and east are mostly pedestrianized and are separated with a road and a public transportation route. The whole complex is designed to create an industrial aesthetic with four main materials: naked concrete, bronze bars, wooden cladding, and a natural stone indigenous to the region.
